Orcas and Victoria

We spent our last day on Orcas island at the lake and doing a mini waterfall hike. We had breakfast at Rosie’s which was excellent and then a picnic lunch at the lake. Met up with friends for a walk to the waterfalls.

Then we boarded two ferries to Victoria. It is so beautiful here. Water taxis are our main mode of transportation. And everyone we meet is really nice. The girls enjoyed $1 oysters for a snack.  Mollie has a personal record of 12 oysters in one sitting that she is trying to beat. Hasn’t happened yet but this may be the trip. Rozzie is obsessed with the sea planes, watching them come in and out of the water and seeing who is on them.

Seattle Part 4

We are still on Orcas island. Went whale watching. Sadly no orcas to be watched. But we did see a beautiful humpback and lots of sea lions. And the boat was delightful.

Views from the mountaintop and the boats parked at Rosario resort and spa.

Seattle day 2

Day 2

We started out by attending a CSIS event at the University of Washington. It was really cool. Steve Morrison is kicking things off below. The girls got to meet Senator Patty Murray and practiced writing on college desks.

Afterwards we had pho at a place called Pho Shizzle, Mollies choice and ice cream at Sweet Alchemy, Rozzies choice. Followed by a trip to the bookstore to update our Husky gear.

Then we drove to the ferry to go to orcas island. We happened to be three cars behind our friends Noah and Jasmine and their three kids. A fun treat!

Last pic is sunrise on Orcas Island.

Seattle trip!

We are off to Seattle!  (I’m having a hard time rearranging the pics on my phone so, out of order, here’s day 1 and 2)

Airport sammies at BWI and girls plugged in on the plane. I was the only one who slept the whole way over which made for a long trip.

Our first day we walked around Fremont, visited the troll under the bridge and went to the farmers market.  Then we met Megan and Josh and Paige and Dylan at the Ballard farmers market. We went to the fish lock
