Memorial Day and Rosalyn 9 weeks

Rosalyn is 9 weeks old!  A few weeks ago we started a baby and mom yoga/fitness class.  It has been a great way for me to meet some other moms and get a little exercise.  Rosalyn loves the part where I hold her and walk around the room doing lunges and squats.  She also loves the Itsy Bitsy Yoga maneuvers that are incorporated in the class - like corkscrew and baby massage.  It's been fun.  But one of the best parts is that she sleeps like a dream after the class.
We had an awesome Memorial Day weekend packed with fun activities.  Friday, I met Louie and Sam at work and we went out for adult beverages and formula for Rosalyn. Rosalyn loved hanging out with her godfather Sam, and was very happy for him to feed her a ton.   She even held out on pooping until Louie took her back.  It's true love.

Saturday morning we met Mollie's best friend, Anya, at the park and went out for pizza lunch

Saturday night we went to sunset on the lawn at Mount Vernon.  It was so nice, we bought a little snack and some drinks and Mollie could run around.  She's very interested in history and enjoyed learning all about the mansion and the various rooms on the property.  It was really fun.  It was hard to get a photo of the three of them, here's the series.

Sunday we to a strawberry farm.  There were no strawberries for picking, but there were plenty of other activities, like a potato sack race, pie eating contest, even a strawberry princess.  There was a petting zoo, including baby goats.
Mollie rode on this cow which was labeled "Mollie."  I need to get the photo from Louie of the side view, but here's our happy gal riding the cow train.
On Monday we had our first pool date.  Our regular pool is closed for the season but we are using a substitute pool which is quite nice.

Rosalyn's 2 month appointment

Rosalyn had her two month check up today.  She weighs 13 lbs 10 ounces and is 24.5 inches long.  She's 100th percentile for length and 95th percentile for weight.  She demonstrated how we have been practicing tummy time.  She spit up several times, including all over me and all over the pediatrician.  She's otherwise a happy, healthy 2 month old.  She had two shots today, which sucked.  We went to yoga and then she cried basically for 3 hours straight, which is totally unlike her, my poor (not so) little bean!

Here are a few more pictures from our trip to Philly this past weekend.  The girls with their Great Grand Poppy JJ.  And a picture of our friend Quinn chasing Mollie around Louie's legs at the zoo.

Rosalyn 8 weeks

I can't believe I'm saying this already but Rosalyn is 8 weeks old!  Crazy how time flies.  Mollie is having mixed feelings about her little sister.  A few weeks ago we had this adorable exchange:
"mommy, do you remember before we had the baby?"
"yes, I remember"
"when your belly was small and it was just me, you, and daddy? Remember that?"
" yes, I remember. Why?"
" that was sad because I didn't have a sister."

This week though reality seems to be setting in a little more and she's been exploring the idea of returning to a three person family and comparing who loves who the most (Mollie loves me more than she loves Rosalyn, and so forth).
One of their sweeter moments together:
A pic of Rosalyn and me on my birthday!  33 - how did that happen?

Last weekend we went to visit Poppy JJ in Pennsylvania.  We had a really nice visit and he got to meet Rosalyn (photos to come).  But I found these two cute photos in his collection.  The first is cousin Anya, but I think it looks so much like Mollie.  The second is my brother and sister, I think Rosalyn looks like my bro

After our visit with Poppy, we headed to the Philadelphia Zoo with our dear friends Jordan and Kevin and their two boys.  The kids were very excited about the polar bear at the zoo.
The moms were very excited about this peacock - so beautiful!
Mollie says the flamingos were her fave
We witnessed some really gross Giraffe mating behavior.  The male giraffe drinks the female's urine from "the source" as Louie put it and then chases her around.  Mollie says "mom, I almost threw up when I saw that."

Mother's Day and Rosalyn 7 Weeks

Lots of mother's day festivities this week.  We had a really lovely brunch just our little family, went out for donuts, and then rested at home.  Then we had dinner with  Nana and Pop-pop and celebrated some May family birthdays, too.

Mollie has been really into being "matching girls" with her little sister.  Here they are before brunch.

Dinner at Nana and Pop-Pop's, hanging out on the back porch while the men cooked.
 Mollie hiding from the camera.

Nana celebrating Grandmother's day with Rosalyn.

On Friday, Mollie had a mother's day show at her school.  They acted out "Are you my Mother."  It was very cute.  Mollie was in the audience, but the actors gave a fine performance.  Including Owen, one of Mollie's best friends (in the green shorts).

We also had a very busy Saturday before Mother's Day.  Mollie had her show at her ballet class.  The dad's were on duty.  Here's a picture of Louie and Anya's Dad, Chris, watching the show.  Rosalyn and I stayed outside to watch so we wouldn't interrupt.

Then we headed out to Owen's birthday party.  Owen had a reptile show for the kids.  Mollie was so brave, including petting a boa constrictor named Sunflower.  There was also a Kimodo Dragon and a turtle.  The kids loved it.

And some photos  of Rosalyn from her 7th week.

Big development this week - she slept through the night (for Mother's Day, no doubt).  From 10:30 pm to 6 am in her little co-sleeper.  Louie and I are very thankful to her for that.
 Practicing tummy time.

Happy about getting so big :)

Trying on some new outfits from Gramma Liz...

Loving her big sis.

Being this cute is very exhausting.

Rosalyn 6 Weeks

Rosalyn is six weeks old!  We can't believe how fast time flies.  Here are some pictures of what we've been up to.

Some new favorite things - dolls, baths, flying baby burrito swinging, and her play gym. She's getting a lot more engaged in the things around her, which is very fun to watch.

Last weekend we went to the flower mart at the national Cathedral.  A beautiful day for a stroll and some fair rides.
