Week 10 - California continued

More California pictures! Here's Mollie at In-n-Out for the first time. Obviously she is loving it :)
In our traditional restaurant tour, Mollie also got to go to Tartine. If you're ever in San Francisco, we highly recommend this bakery. They have amazing everything - coffee, eclairs, lemon bars, morning buns, etc. Here's Mollie visiting with Andrew, Margie and Sammy at Tartine's outdoor tables.

Mollie also met Auntie Mimi, who was kind enough to drive up from LA after her thesis show for her art degree.

Louie bought Mollie this really funny/weird raccoon finger puppet. It is hideous, but makes her stop crying, so obviously it is now our most prized possession. Here are Grandma Liz and Auntie Margie demonstrating its magic powers.
Here are a few nice grandparent pictures from the weekend. There were so many to pick from, but these were my favorites.

Mollie is giving Grandma Liz a dreamy lovey look. I love it!
We also went to Liz's art show. It was very fun and a great show. Liz even got her name on the sign on the main road in Marin, which was really cool.
Instead of looking at the art at the show, some people, including the great grands, spent some time looking at Mollie.
Mollie got a lot of quality time with her great grandparents, Kassie and Earl.
She also met Louie's godmother, Terry. They had a great time together.

Molliefest 2010

Liz and David were kind enough to have a party, also known as Molliefest, for Mollie while we were in California. So, Mollie got all dressed up in her finest party dress from Great Grandpa Earl and Great Grandma Kassie, and geared up for the big event.
There was lots of delicious food to eat, and Grandma Liz even planted new flowers on the back wall to make it extra special.
Mollie ate well too. To prove it, she spit up all over cousin Dennis. Here she is right before their big moment. Fortunately, Dennis took it pretty well.
Lots of friends came. Here's Riley with Aunt Sandy. Riley's just two weeks younger than Mollie - we think they will be great friends.
And here's Riley's dad, Greg, giving Mollie a good view.
And here's cousin Jordana and Aunt Margie. There were lots of other guests at the party, unfortunately I didn't have a chance to photograph them - if anyone else has photos, please send them to me and I'll be happy to add them to this post.

Ryan's Baptism

One more photo from last week. Here's Mollie with her new friend Madison at the party after Ryan's baptism. I failed miserably at photographing the event. Probably because I was too busy hoping Mollie wouldn't cry and ruin it. But thankfully, Jen and Dave got this great photo from the party.

Week 9 - California!

We have been having a wonderful time visiting family and friends in California. Here are some highlights from the trip:

We went to Fenton's with Margie, Meg and Josh and ate the humongous ice cream sundaes. I highly recommend it to anyone in the bay area with a serious sweet tooth. Just make sure that you bring your friends to share because the sundaes are enormous.

We went for a long walk through the botanical gardens at UC Berkeley. It was really beautiful and we had a great time catching up with Megan and Margie on the walk.

Mollie met Auntie Megan for the first time. They were immediately in love. Mollie even showed off her new giggle for Megan in the car.
Mollie also met her great grandpa Bob. Looks like they like each other pretty well, doesn't it?
Last weekend we went to picnic day at UC Davis. I was shocked to learn that there are all kinds of events and booths on campus, as I previously thought this was just a day for undergrads to get wasted. Mollie slept through the entire day, but I think she loved Davis as much as we do.
While you might think this is a drunk college kid passed out on the quad, you would be wrong. This is Louie's dad, David taking a nap after our delicious picnic lunch. I think he was just jealous of all the sleep Mollie was getting and wanted to join in the fun.
Mollie met her great grandma Kassie and great grandpa Earl, who gave her this adorable pink headband. I don't know what Mollie and Kassie are looking at, but it seems like it was really interesting (maybe Louie and Liz).

Mollie got some great snuggle time with her grandma Liz. She slept like this for several hours - an amazing break for me and Louie, and I think Liz liked it too :)
Here's one last photo from our flight. Gotta love that purple lighting on the virgin america flights!

Week 8 - Meeting more family, play time, and first flight

Mollie had her first plane flight all the way to San Francisco this week. She was great on the plane and spent most of the time looking around at all the passengers and out the window. She didn't have much of an interest in sleeping though. All in all the flight was a huge success. Lots of California pictures coming soon. Here's Mollie sporting the first flower from our front yard.
Mollie went to the pediatrician this week. She weighs 13 lbs, 2 ozs and is 23 and 3/4 inches long. She also had to get her first round of vaccinations, which was torture for everyone involved. The pediatrician suggested that we get Mollie a play gym so she can start practicing grabbing toys and things. Here she is doing some tummy time in her new gym - look out Hill's gymnastics, you're next!
We had a great play date with Taylor and Silas on Sunday. Mollie slept through the whole visit, but we had a great time watching Silas play at the park and catching up with Taylor.
Mollie also met her Great Aunt Ann and her Great Uncle Jim. It was a wonderful visit and we all look forward to seeing them again really soon. We reminded Uncle Jim that when he used to babysit me he brought rolos and heineken, so next time we hope he'll remember his babysitting equipment :)

More smiles

It's really hard to catch her smiles with our camera so I made this video of her smiling. The best one is around the 40 second mark. Enjoy!

Week 7 - Mollie's first Easter

Mollie took this picture with all of her Easter bunnies and her party dress to wish her Auntie Devorah a happy birthday.
On Easter Sunday, we went to the park at Dumbarton with Deb, Ethan, Liam and Rina. I somehow failed to get a picture of Ethan and Liam, but we had a great time at the playground soaking up the amazing weather.
The Saturday before Easter we went to Nana and Pop-pop's house for a BBQ and Easter egging.
Here are Auntie Sissy and Uncle Barty making eggs. Don't they look like professionals?
At the BBQ, Mollie met Uncle Jimmy and Aunt Martha. Most importantly, the rest of us got to eat Jimmy's cooking, which is AMAZING. We tried to convince him to move here but he refuses. We'll keep working on him. Mollie got some good snuggles from Martha and looks forward to many more BBQs at Nana and Pop-pop's.

A few more Passover pics

I hope Margie and Jenny don't hurt me for posting this one, I think it's so cute.
And see, I'll post this awkward one of myself in the backround to make it up to you guys. So sweet! Mollie loved her time with Auntie Margie.
And one of the sibs for good measure :)

Week 6 - First Seder, Cherry Blossoms and Aunt Margie's Visit

Mollie had a great time at her first Seder at Nana and Pop-pop's house. Despite her appearance in this picture with her first matzoh, she really hung in there for most of the night until the very end. Great grand poppy surprised her with her first Easter bunny (in the pink bag in the background). It was a great night.
We also had a great time with Auntie Margie and her friends Andy and Claire at the Cherry Blossom and Kite Festivals on the Mall. Mollie slept through the whole outing, but we're pretty sure she had an awesome time.

It was so nice having Margie in town, we were really sad to see her go. But we look forward to seeing her and the rest of the Lauter family in just under 2 weeks!
