Weeks 35 and 36 - Boo at the Zoo, Silas's birthday, Keep Fear Alive Rally

We missed a week of posting last week because Mollie and I left for a business trip to Los Angeles. We had a great time - although we both really missed Louie! Here are some catch up pictures.

We also went to Boo at the Zoo before we left. It was really fun. We had a great time trick or treating through the zoo and dressing Mollie up as a hot ta-Mollie.
There were tons of treats at the zoo, including this Shrek pop that Louie was particularly enjoying.

Sunday we left for Los Angeles. We got to spend a lot of time catching up with Auntie Mimi.
We also got to see her art show at Marc Selwyn gallery.

This weekend, we went to Mollie's friend Silas's second birthday party. Mollie dressed as a devil and wore her tutu from Grandma Liz.

Silas had delicious cupcakes and goodie bags. We had a great time!
After Silas's birthday party, Mollie had a short nap and then we went to the Steven Colbert and John Stewart Rally. Mollie chose to keep fear alive, wearing her devil ears throughout the rally.

She had the best view of anyone there, sitting on Louie's shoulders.

Pop-pop daycare

Because Mollie is between daycares right now, my dad has taken some vacation time to watch her. They have been having a blast together. Here are some photos from their adventures.

Last week I had jury duty so dad brought Mollie to visit me on my lunch break. We had a nice starbucks break before I had to go back to the courthouse. And I didn't get selected - wahoo!
Mollie and Pop-pop have been having lots of play time around the house.

I believe the quote that goes with this one is my dad saying "I had the contents, Mollie had the container, and we both thought we got the best end of the deal."

Week 34 - Pumpkin patch

Nana got Mollie this really cute pumpkin outfit for Halloween. Doesn't she look just adorable? We had a sleepover at Nana and Pop-pop's while Louie and Margie were in Philadelphia for the Giants game. It was a good night for everyone - the Giants won and Mollie and I had a great sleep over.I included this photo despite the unpleasant face she's making because if you look closely you can see her two little teeth front and center.
When Louie and Margie got back, we went to Butler's orchard to pick pumpkins. There was a fun Halloween party area with a moon bounce, food, petting zoo, giant slide, mazes, and lots of other fun activities.
Daniel and Emma were there. Emma was sleeping, but here's Daniel playing with the corn kernel table.
And Liam and Rina also joined in the fun. Here's Mollie giving Rina her finger of approval.

There was also this game where you pump water to try to move a rubber duck across this lane. Andrew was very good at the game - Margie, not so much. But probably because she was holding a baby in one arm and because her duck seemed to have some issues getting to a floating position.

Margie made me remove this photo, so you will have to imagine the duck game.

And a goat.
But more importantly - some soft serve ice cream. Mollie's number 1 favorite food.

A few more California pics

California Part 2

Mollie got in some quality time at Great Grandma Kassie and Great Grandpa Earl's house in San Francisco. We think they liked having her too.They had some pretty neat toys left over from when Louie was a kid.
We were in California because I had some work meetings in Sacramento and the surrounding areas. While I was giving some boring talk on Medicare payment reform, Louie and his parents and Mimi were doing this. Doesn't quite seem fair, does it?

Mollie enjoyed some of the bottom of Mimi's ice coffee cup. I think those Lauter sisters have a nack with the ice coffee and entertaining Mollie.
Next, after my work meetings, I met Louie and Mollie and we headed over to Riley-bean's house for some play time and delicious Greek food with her parents, Greg and Trisha.

The girls had a good time with Riley's floor mat while they grown ups watched the Giants game.

Then, Mollie tried on Riley's Halloween costume.
Up next, more visiting with the great grands at their place.


We took Aunt Sarah out to lunch for her birthday at Yank Sing. Here, we discovered that Mollie had her first tooth! She used it to munch on this yummy bread. By the end of the trip, her single tooth was one of a pair. A very sharp pair.
Mollie tried to feed her sucked on/nibbled bread to Uncle Sam as his reward for trying to help her win the fan favorite in the Facebook contest.
For some reason, I don't think he wanted to eat it. Can't imagine why.
Sarah kept using Mollie as a photo shield, so this is the only one we have of her.
Mollie also got to meet Phil and Ericka's daugher, Rhua. The girls are just 3 weeks apart. How lucky is Mollie to have all these little girl friends right around her age?!
Last but certainly not least, we had dinner with Mollie's godparents, Megan and Josh. It was great to see them and we were so thankful that they drove all the way into the city to meet us for a quick dinner on a week night. We love you guys!
