Rosalyn 5 Weeks and Welcome Party

Hard to believe it, but Rosalyn is already 5 weeks old!  This week her Auntie Sissy and uncle Mike hosted a welcome party for her at Nana and Pop-pop's house.  Pre-party we had a great day date with Auntie Sissy.  We got fro-yo and had lunch.  It poured at the end of our day, fortunately Louie was able to pick us up before we got too soaked.

Pre-party with the party animal.  Obviously having some pretty sweet dreams here.
This week marked her first social smile - and she's practicing it more and more.

The set up - Georgetown Cupcakes
Gorgeous name sign.

Nana built Rosalyn this sweet bouncy seat.  She tested it out - works great.

Enjoying the festivities (she slept through an hour and a half of the two-hour shindig)
Uncle Mike holding a baby for the first time.  Good work.  She pooped, which sort of freaked him out, but he survived.
 Rosalyn's godfather Sammy.

I should note that Pop-pop picked out the party dress at the French Market in Georgetown.  It was a big hit and quite cute.
The rest of the pics are just photos of the girls from this week.  Mollie has been really into the matching outfits this week.  So we are doing lots of matchy matchy these days.

Easter 2014

We had a small brunch at our house for Easter, made primarily by Nana and Pop-pop.  Lots of good fun had by all.

Mollie's school was closed on good Friday so Pop-pop took her to the park in the morning.  Lots of good fun that is funny.

Also, I've been meaning to write down some Mollie-isms and keep forgetting to do it, so I'm putting them here while I'm thinking of it:

Mollie says "does the baby need her taxi" and means pacifier or paci (as opposed to putting the baby in a taxi, which is what we initially thought
Mollie currently calls Rosalyn "baby wolf" or baby elephant
Mollie is OBSESSED with Frozen (the latest Disney Princess movie for those of you living under a rock or with no small children in your lives)

Rosalyn is 1 month and meets Auntie Margie

Rosalyn is one month old!  Goodness how time flies.  Rosalyn had her one month appointment.  She is about 23 inches long (not so cooperative with being measured) and weighs 11 pounds 12 ounces.  She is doing really well, likes being bounced, going for walks, and her bouncy seat.  She's smiling much more this week, it is very sweet.  Big sis is doing well.

What a difference a month makes!

Passover 2014

Louie's parents were in town for Passover this year.  We had a nice little family seder at our house.  Liz cooked, we are so grateful for both the seder AND the leftovers.  It was really nice to have the four grandparents together for Rosalyn's first Passover!
We didn't have enough yarmulkes so Grandpa David had to improvise...
Seder plate and a little pre-dinner hummus snack.
The plagues, preschool style (thanks, Nana!)  We lost them all before we could even get the picture.  The plague of the first born was REALLY creepy.
 Welcome to Mollie's hair salon!

Grandparent visit and Rosalyn 3 weeks

Happy baby!

Sisters in matching jammies.

 Rosalyn's first bath - not a fan.
Meeting Aunt Ann and Uncle Jim.
Grandma Liz and Grandpa David visited this week.  Everyone really enjoyed their visit!

In case you were starting to think Rosalyn's always smiling and sleeping...
Mollie and Grandma Liz enjoying some special time together
Taking some time to stop and smell the flowers (all flowers)
Mollie's Easter bunny arrived a little early.  When we were kids, Poppy JJ always ate the ears off our bunnies.  So we took this photo for him.

Coloring in the park (and grandpa playing soccer in the background)
Rosalyn and daddy enjoying the nice weather
 Naptime!
Mollie and Grandma Liz running near the Georgetown waterfront.  They worked on how many different ways they could use a swaddling blanket to make different things - a cape, a toga, a house, a skirt, and so on.

Getting to know one another.  Plus a little Grandma magic to get Rosalyn to sleep.
Mollie's cherry blossom viewing outfit.  Glasses courtesy of Grandma Liz, dress all the way from South Africa (thanks, Pop-pop).
We had a great time checking out the cherry blossoms. But by the end, Mollie was exhausted.  She decided that Rosalyn's infant stroller could probably still fit her.  You can't really see it here, but she had a bag of Pirate's Booty chips in there too.  Quite the life of the little queen which you would never know from her sour expression!

The girls: Rosalyn 3 weeks, Mollie 4 weeks.
