October updates

I'm way behind on my posts so here are a bunch of random pics.  First, a picture of Mollie playing at Nana and Pop-pop's after her "back to school" shopping trip.
Mollie at her friend Asha's birthday party - Roar!

The birthday girl swinging at the pinata (and her brave father holding it up!)

Lots of October birthdays, here we are at Silas's fourth birthday.  Lots of fun with Groovy Nate and his parachute.
 Kid parade.

Mollie and Maggie enjoying some sweet treats at Silas's party.

Mollie and Louie at Boo at the Zoo.  Despite Hurricane Sandy, we were able to make it through Boo at the Zoo AND get home in time to watch the Giants win the world series.  Quite an accomplishment.

Yom Kippur and Uncle Barty's Iron Man

For yom kippur this year we went to services with Auntie Margie and Andrew.  It was a really nice service with a kids' craft and a play.

The next weekend we went out to  the Eastern shore to cheer on Uncle Barty as he completed his first Iron Man and Uncle Sammy as he completed his first half Iron Man.  Both of our guys had impressive finishes (and we made some pretty impressive signs for cheering them on as well).
Transition from bike to run - looking good!
 Starting the run...
And the finish!  Someone has pictures from the after party - which was also a lot of fun.  Send them if you've got 'em!

Rosh Hashana and National Book Festival

Last weekend Mollie and I made plaster magnets and then she had a great time painting them.  A perfect weekend activity.

This week we went to synagogue with Nana and Papa for Rosh Hashana.  We had a great time, Mollie especially enjoyed the snack, including honey sticks.

But it wasn't all about the snacks, there was a play and Mollie had a great time participating in all the action (Louie, too).

This weekend we went to the National Book Festival on the Mall.  Mollie and her friend Yael got to meet some of the characters from PBS kids shows, there was music, dancing, of course reading, and the carousel.  We had a great time.

Trip to the Fair

Last weekend we went to the Renaissance Festival near Annapolis.  Mollie really had a blast with all the princesses, fairies, and pony rides.

Summer 2012 California trip

We just got back from a visit to California.  Mollie had a great time with her whole family, including drawing on the deck of Grandma Lizzie, Grandpa David, and Grandpa Earl's house.
Grandma Lizzie also started a community garden not far from her house.  There's lots of fun stuff to do there, like chasing lizards, picking and eating vegetables, picking flowers, and so on.

Mollie especially liked picking and eating peas.

Mollie also tends to bring out the silly side of her family members, like Uncle Sam.  [Lots more pictures of the fan with Mollie to come as soon as I get my flash drive from Sam...hint, hint]
We also went to Sonoma to Train Town.  Highly recommend this if you're in California with kids are interested in wineries and kid-friendly fun.  Right down the street from downtown Sonoma, Train Town has a bunch of fun rides and a train to a petting zoo.  We had a great time with our friend Madison and her parents (if only I could combine the two pics below, I'd have one with both girls looking at the camera) and our friends Riley and Mia and their parents.

First Hair Cut

Before we left for California, we had a delicious dinner at Uncle Sammy's house.  Auntie Sanam was nice enough to give Mollie her first hair cut ( and Louie was brave enough to let it happen, finally).  Doesn't she look beautiful??

Miss Mollie-isms

Pics to follow, but some of our fave quotes from this week.  She's growing up so fast!

Leaving Uncle Sammy's house tonight - "Uncle Sammy is very so cute"

Me - "Mollie, can I have a bite of your ice cream?"
Mollie  - "What do you say?"
Me - "Please"
Mollie - "Please what?"
Me - "Mollie, please can I have a bite of your ice cream"
Mollie - "Yes.  Good job, Mommy."

Watching the Olympics - "Mommy, I don't like these, where is Gabby Dabby (Gabby Douglas)?"
