Rosalyn, 2 weeks

Rosalyn had her two week check up today.  She is 23 inches long and weighs 10 lbs.  She's growing well, 98th percentile for height, 90th percentile for weight.  Some pictures from her second week.

 Rosalyn has been a great sleeper this week.  She's sleeping at night for 5-6 hour stretches at night, which is very exciting for Mommy and Daddy.  We're not sure how long it will last, of course, but we're enjoying it while it does!

 Rosalyn enjoys walks in the Bjorn and the stroller.  We've started getting out of the house a little bit for short outings.

 This weekend we got out and about a little bit.  Went to the Freer gallery and saw some paintings.  Mollie was really interested in learning about Buddha in particular.  We went for a walk in the gardens outside of the museum and enjoyed some long overdue spring weather.

Rosalyn's 1 Week Old

Rosalyn had her one week check up yesterday.  She got a clean bill of health, a relief after all that time at the hospital.  She weighs 8 lbs, 14 ounces and is 22 inches long.  Today, we took her on her first stroll in the baby Bjorn - we went to vote and then out to lunch.  She slept the whole way.

We are thrilled to announce the new addition to our family, Rosalyn Sydney. She got off to a little bit of a rough start.  Rosalyn was in the special care nursery for her first week due to having aspirated meconium during the delivery.  But we are pleased to report she is home now with a clean bill of health and is doing great.  Some pictures from her first week.  Rosalyn was born at 12:27 am on March 24, weighing the same as big sis, 8 pounds, 12 ounces and measuring 22 inches long.

Day 2

 Getting "tanned" to cure her jaundice.  Look at those sunshades!

 Big sis got some pretty sweet gifts, including a mask making set.  She was happy with the masks, the sour expression is over having to stand still to have her photo taken.

 Finally getting to go home - Sunday, March 30th.

 Nurse escort to the exit.  We were really impressed and pleased with the nurses and physicians at the hospital.  For the most part, all were excellent and took really good care of our little girl.

 Sisters!  Mollie has been doing pretty well with our newest arrival.  Although, in the car on the way home she did ask me when we drop off the baby in New York City.  She's been excited to help out with everything and is very sweet with her little sis.

 Louie's going to start his own WNBA team with these two lengthy ladies.

 Rosalyn is the most smiley newborn I've encountered.  I'm not sure what it is that tickles her fancy, but it makes us all smile too.

Waiting Game

As many of you know, we are awaiting the arrival of our second little girl (due March 17).  In the meantime, we've been doing plenty of activities but I've been lagging on the blogging with wrapping up at work and not having much energy.  So here is an update in no particular order.

Mollie has been enjoying testing out the baby's gifts.  

 On March 18, Mollie had her 4-year check up.  She's doing great but had to get 3 shots, a blood draw, and a TB test.  She was very brave and didn't cry at all despite all the pokes.  I decided to play hookie with her after her appointment.  Hamburger lunch date, bought her some new nail polish and watched the Lion King.  Quite a lovely afternoon.

 In addition to enjoying the baby's gifts, she's been enjoying the boxes the gifts come in.

 We had a surprise mid-March snow day on Saint Patrick's day.  We took Mollie sledding for the first time.  She loved it (with the exception of a little fall).

 Last weekend was observation day at Mollie's ballet class.  I can't believe how much she's learned in just a few months.

 Before the snow storm there was a really nice warm spring day.  Mollie is dismayed at the state of her garden plants.
