Ballet!

Rozzie has been asking us to sign her up for ballet for almost a year and today she finally had her first class.  She loved it!

Back to school

It’s back to school time!  Rozzie started pre-k4 and Mollie third. Rozzie loves her teacher and is making new friends but it has been a big transition. Mollie is loving third grade where the focus is on becoming more organized. We are loving having one drop off and both kids at one school and no daycare fees!!!

Cascades

The next part of our trip included a ferry ride back to the USA and a short stop at a lovely air bnb in the Cascades. We had coffee at an espresso hut that was featured in the movie Harry and the Hendersons, made s’mores, enjoyed meals on the patio with a river view, and got a little work done.  

Victoria, Cascades, Back to Seattle

Rounding out our trip in Victoria we had a lovely tea at the Empress hotel. We walked around and looked at galleries and spent a lot of time on water taxis. 

Then we drove to our air BnB in Gold Bar. It was so beautiful and I helped make a fire!  The place we stayed had a little espresso hut down the highway where part of Harry and the Hendersons was filmed. 

We drove back to Seattle. We stopped in Snoqualmie for a big banana split. Yum. 

Orcas and Victoria

We spent our last day on Orcas island at the lake and doing a mini waterfall hike. We had breakfast at Rosie’s which was excellent and then a picnic lunch at the lake. Met up with friends for a walk to the waterfalls. 

Then we boarded two ferries to Victoria. It is so beautiful here. Water taxis are our main mode of transportation. And everyone we meet is really nice. The girls enjoyed $1 oysters for a snack.  Mollie has a personal record of 12 oysters in one sitting that she is trying to beat. Hasn’t happened yet but this may be the trip. Rozzie is obsessed with the sea planes, watching them come in and out of the water and seeing who is on them. 

Seattle Part 4

We are still on Orcas island. Went whale watching. Sadly no orcas to be watched. But we did see a beautiful humpback and lots of sea lions. And the boat was delightful.

Then walking around downtown Orcas Island and dinner at Mijitas Mexican restaurant.
