Auntie Margie and Andrew just wrapped up their cross-country road trip and are now staying with us for a while. They brought Mollie lots of cool gifts, including this amazing hat.

This weekend we all went to Cape Cod to celebrate our family friend Joel's 60th birthday. It was a weekend of a lot of firsts for Miss Mollie - first clam bake, first beach trip, first boat ride. She had an amazing time.

Mollie got to meet Joel's daughters and our friends, Ali and Cara, she loved them!

Saturday morning, while others were setting up for the party, we headed over to Ali's beach.

Mollie LOVED it.

"Hey you guys, have you seen this sand stuff before? It's amazing!?"

"But it doesn't taste that good"

"And I don't even care because I love the beach!"

Next we figured we would see if she loved the water as much as she loved the sand, and the answer was a resounding yes. We think she must take after her Aunt Elana who was also an extreme water baby.

After the beach we got changed and had some down time inside. Nana and Ali played piano.

Mollie hung out with the gang.

And then that evening was the main event - Joel's party! Here's the birthday boy.

Mollie spent most of her first clam bake in our Ergo baby carrier fast asleep. Yep, that's a Giants sweatshirt she's wearing.

Louie made me include this picture of the clams because he loved them so much.

Margie and Andrew also loved the clam bake.

Dad and Uncle Jimmy chatting. Jimmy is wearing Andrew's hat in case you were wondering.

The next morning we had breakfast on the porch...

And said our goodbyes to uncle Jimmy. He promises he is coming to D.C. soon...right Uncle Jimmy?

He made a lobster bib for Mollie just in case she had a mid-morning snack.

Then, those of us were left got suited up for the boat. Mollie was ok with the life jacket at first, and then decided she hated it and then...

Fell fast asleep on the boat.

Everyone loved cruising around, the weather was perfect, it was the perfect ending to our weekend.

I'm not sure why Louie looks so serious here, but he was having a great time, I promise. Mollie loved the boat. She's a true water baby, she didn't even mind when the water splashed on her face and woke her up. And she loved riding around and looking at the other boats passing by. It was a great weekend - we can't wait to go back!

Tell Mollie I completely agree with her about the beach. These are some precious photos. And that life jacket! If she let you put her in that, I'm thinking you guys are lucky parents.
