Week 22 - Playing with the Big Kids, 5 Month Check Up, First Meal

Last weekend we had a playdate with Silas and his parents, Taylor and Matt. After playing at our house for a little while we took the kiddos for ice cream at Max's in Glover Park. It was really fun and Mollie was interested in every single thing Silas did and said.When we got back to our house, Mollie and Silas played footsie, which made Mollie laugh hysterically. In fact, it was so cute that even Louie couldn't be upset that his little girl has a new boyfriend.
On Sunday morning we went to the Turtle Park sprayground with Rina, Liam, Deb and Ethan. The sprayground is a really cool park with a regular playground and a water feature sort of like a garden hose on steroids.
Mollie was more interested in watching Rina swing than swinging herself.
The goat version of Liam showed me how to feed him/goats raisins with a flat hand.
And Mollie and Deb cooled off in the water.
Mollie also had her 5 month doctor's appointment this month. She weighs 17 lbs 2 oz and is 26.5 inches long. This month she learned to roll onto her belly (see sleeping picture below) and she has started pushing herself up on all fours and rocking back and forth.

At her check up we got the go ahead to start feeding her some food. This week, rice cereal. Very exciting stuff. She seemed a little unsure of it and mostly enjoys blowing bubbles on the spoon, rubbing the spit out rice cereal on her legs, and generally making a big mess. We think she will like the fruits and veggies more.

Week 21 - Philly Trip

Last weekend we went to Philly for Carrie and Brian's wedding (see below). But while we were there we also got to do some sightseeing and hang out with some family. Here we are at the indoor market.

Louie and I enjoyed cheese steaks, while Mollie and the Gator slept.

We also visited the Liberty Bell because getting her picture in front of it seemed like the right thing to do.
Then we attended Brian and Carrie's rehearsal dinner, which was really fun. Mollie liked all the people singing to her.
While we were nearby, we visited Great Grand Poppy, Great Uncle Jim, and Mollie got to meet cousin Anya. It was a really nice visit - we don't see them nearly enough!


Finally, a holdover picture from last week. My sister was nice enough to watch Mollie while Louie and I went on a booze cruise with his work. The cruise was really nice - great food, plenty to drink, and good company. We had a really nice time.

Carrie and Brian Got Hitched!

So, we are just back from a weekend in Wayne, PA to celebrate Brian and Carrie's wedding. We have many pictures from the weekend but I thought the wedding deserved a post of its own. We all had a wonderful time and are so thrilled for Brian and Carrie.

The wedding had the most amazing thing I've ever seen - a cookie table. Basically, guests contributed cookies and they were pretty delicious. There is apparently a southern treat called a buckeye. I have never experienced such joy in a sweet item before. I don't even bake but I'm inspired to learn to make these because they are really that good.

Week 20 - 4th of July Weekend and Annapolis

We have been spending a lot of time at the pool since it's been over 100 degrees almost every day this week. We started off the week on Monday with Pop-pop and Auntie Sissy at Mohican Pool, the pool my family grew up going to. They have a really nice baby pool and lounge area, we had a great time. Mollie also started swim class this week. She loved it, it was so adorable. Unfortunately, I don't have a photo of it because I took her on my own and wasn't talented enough to photograph us in the pool without destroying my camera. Next week I will try to get one of the other mommies to take our photo.


We also had our first sleep over at Nana and Pop-pop's while Louie was at a bachelor party in NY. Mollie wouldn't sleep in the pack-n-play, but she loved sleeping in my old room in the bed.
Last weekend, before Louie went away, we took a trip to Annapolis with Auntie Deedee. It was really fun - we ate crabs and walked around on the waterfront. We even visited the state capitol where we saw this very amusing sign. I will post more pics of Mollie and Deedee when I get them from Dee.

Fourth of July

For the Fourth we went to a little parade in our neighborhood at Volta Park. When I say little, I mean that we walked basically from one side of the Volta Park pool to the other. But it was really fun. The parade organizers had lots of fun decorations for babies and their strollers and for parents and grandparents too.

Week 19 - Happy birthday Nana C and Grandpa David, Mr. Yogato turns 2, Bonjour Auntie Deedee

This week we celebrated two birthdays in our family - Nana Cathi and Grandpa David, who just happen to share the same day. Mollie was pretty excited.

We had dinner at Nana and Pop-pop's house where Nana treated us all by playing the piano, which put Mollie right to sleep - it was so amazing. When she woke up, Mollie played the piano with Nana's assistance, it was really fun.

And there was another very important birthday celebration - Mr. Yogato turned two! Mollie wore her Mr. Yogato Little onesie to the party. It was fun, but we really missed Sabrina.
Mollie's been doing some exercises to prepare for her future career as an olympic gymnast, swimmer, sumo wrestler, rower, soccer player, etc. She's going to be a woman of many talents, obviously. Here she is demonstrating crunches.

And finally, this week brought the arrival of Auntie Deedee all the way from Paris! Mollie and Deedee have quite the crush on one another. Deedee's boyfriend JB sent this puppet for Mollie - she loves it, but she loves Deedee's rendition of itsy bitsy spider more.
Deedee was kind enough to watch Mollie while I went to a work meeting this week. They had a great time playing outside in the gorgeous weather and singing songs and reading books.
