Cousin Emily Gets Married

Many more photos from this weekend to come, but here are just two. One of the beautiful bride with her beautiful mom and handsome brother. And one of Mollie snoozin' at the ceremony. She fell asleep in the cab on the way over and stayed asleep for about the first half of the wedding. I don't think her grandpa minded much :)

Yummmm!

Mollie loves pasta with red sauce!

Pool Fun

We had a very relaxing Memorial Day weekend at home. Very low key. We took Mollie out for brunch and she practiced walking up some stairs. She was pretty proud of herself when she realized she could do it all on her own.

On Sunday and Monday we took Mollie to the pool. She absolutely loves the water - splashing, swimming...
...drinking.
Monday we went to Mohican with Nana, Pop-pop, and great grandpoppy. I didn't get a lot of pictures but did get this cute one of the post-swim goldfish snack.

Happy Birthday Reuben!

Resting up for the big event. We had a lovely party in the courtyard at Mara and Reuben's place. All the cool kids were there.
Daniel scoping out the scene before we dig into the Georgetown Cupcakes.

Happy birthday, Reuben!
Awww, happy family!
Rina was a big fan of the chocolate cupcake :)

Mama's Birthday

Last week was my 30th birthday and we celebrated all weekend long. Uncle Jimmy came to town and we had a cook out on Friday night. Mollie enjoyed hot dogs and good company. I enjoyed concharitas and good company.
"Where are my presents?"
In the fine tradition of the McDermott women, I immediately put on all my gifts for this photo opportunity.
I don't know what is going on here, but I thought it looked cute.
More partying.
In the morning, Auntie Sissy accompanied us to Jonah's Treehouse for Mollie's gym class and then to the farmer's market. As an extra surprise, there were baby animals at the farmer's market. Mollie liked them all...from a distance.
Then Mollie showed us her hula-hooping abilities.
Saturday night Louie arranged for a lovely wine tasting and dinner at this great little French restaurant in our neighborhood. All the grown ups left the kiddies at home for a great night out on the town. There are no photos for a reason :)

Mother's Day

I had a really lovely Mother's Day. In the morning, Mollie and I went for a little walk to Safeway and the neighborhood flea market. Then we saw some friends for brunch, hanging out, and kiddie pool time. Mollie loved it!

We really tried to get a quick group shot, but the kids were not so into the idea.
In between we skyped with Grandma and Ahmed. Mollie showed off some of her dance moves and new words ("book" and "roar"). For dinner we went to Nana and Pop-Pops. Mollie got this new headband, which I love but she won't keep it on for very long.
She distributed some plastic cups all over Nana's kitchen.
And then gave them to Uncle Barty one at a time.
And that's where my pictures ended. But, mom has some more, so I'll include them in a future post. It was a really lovely day.

First Giants Game

First just some catch up pictures. Here's Mollie snuggling with her favorite blankey. She's been very in to blankets lately, especially laying on them, bunching them up, hiding things under them, dragging them around. But this one is her fave! The weather is finally nice and we've been having a little time to play in the yard. Mollie loves the dandelions. Unfortunately, she really enjoys eating them. We're trying to teach her the concept of blowing off the seeds, but it's not working so well.

We also took Mollie to her first Giants/Nationals game with Nana and Pop-Pop. It was really fun!

Here's a mother's day preview - more pics to come after tomorrow. This week I was out of town at a work meeting for a few days. While I was gone, Kirsten, Mollie's regular sitter, helped Mollie make me some special Mother's Day cupcakes. So sweet of them both!
