MoCo Agricultural Fair

I promise to get back to the wedding and rehearsal pictures, but for now, a quick update from last weekend. Saturday, we tried to go to our friends' birthday party, only to arrive and have Mollie vomit all over the car seat, herself and the floor of the car. Disgusting. So we rested for the rest of Saturday, but she seemed fine after her big barf. So, on Sunday, we headed over to the Montgomery County Agricultural Fair. Mollie had the best time! First, we played a fishing game where she won this stuffed pink fish. She also enjoyed making her fish face.
Then we walked over to scope out the live animals. We saw cows, sheep, goats, and bunnies.
There was pig racing at the Hogway Speedway.
But Mollie liked the chickens best of all. We had a great time and highly recommend it for any of you in the area (it's in Gaithersburg right off 270).

More from California

After our Monterey trip, we headed back to Marin to visit friends and family. We had a really fun sleep over at Mollie's friend Maddie's house. Here are the girls at their special table. So cute! We had a great time with the grown ups too :)The next day we went with Grandma and Grandpa to Muir Beach. Grandma Liz found this really cool charcoal to color with. We had a great time.
After the beach, we went to Sausalito for lunch and a walk. We had a great meal at Fish on the water, and Mollie fed her noodles to the birds. It was really fun. Afterwards we chased birds and played with the fountain on the water in downtown Sausalito.

Friday we headed back to Forest Knolls for some more coloring and visiting.
And practicing holding pencils under our noses.

Later that day we went swimming at Great Grandma Naomi and Great Grandpa Bob's pool with cousin Jacob. Then there was Friday night dinner, which was awesome, but I have no pictures of it and I'm not entirely sure why that is :) Busy week...
Saturday we went to the farmer's market at the ferry building. Great Uncle Sam taught Mollie the fine art of flying.
And we had a great time hanging out with Riley, Greg, and Trisha. They were kind enough to let us stay with them for the remainder of our trip in their fantastic new house. The girls got along great and it was really fun hanging out with them!

Monterey

While we're waiting to accumulate some more photos from the wedding, here are our pics from our quickie trip to Monterey. After the wedding we drove down to Monterey for 2 nights to take Mollie to the aquarium. We stayed at the Portola hotel which I would highly recommend. We went for a walk along Fisherman's Wharf when we got in. Mollie's been taking every opportunity to do two things lately: sing "row row row your boat" and say "cheese" to the camera.
There was a little kid boat, which was perfect given her recent affinity for boats.
We took her down on the sea lion viewing deck the next morning. For $2.00 per person you too can smell like dead fish for a whole day and stand on a ledge looking at this raft of sea lions. Seriously smelled like death, but she loved it. Mollie's other new saying is "bye bye babies" so here she is saying bye bye to her sea lion babies.
That afternoon, Mollie's god mother, Megan, met up with us and we went to the aquarium. It was awesome. In addition to seeing fish, turtles, sea otters, and tons of other delightful critters, there's a great kids' play area complete with a touching zone and a play place. Here's Mollie on the half shell in the kids' zone.
Goofing around with Auntie Megan.
The next morning we went to this Dennis the Menace Playground that was really fun!

Here's Mollie menacing Dennis :)

Devorah's Rehearsal Dinner

The Ets-Hokin family put on an AMAZING rehearsal dinner for Devorah and JB. It was held at cousin Josh's photography studio in San Francisco and the food was catered by this awesome taco truck. We had the best time. Mollie got to hang out with a lot of family! Here she is playing horsey with Uncle Sam.
Devorah's cousins Madeline and Jordana made this gorgeous cake for the beach-themed rehearsal dinner. The "sand" on top is brown sugar and the shells are white chocolate. It was delish!
This is Mollie's newest friend, Baptiste (the bride and groom's new nephew). He's 4 months old and a complete angel - not a peep out of him the entire weekend. More of him and Mollie to come in the wedding post.
Mollie taking in the sites. She's also got these back molars coming in.
And here's a photo of her coloring with the bride-to-be!

Pop-pop!

I just love this picture so I had to post it. It's an older one from a bbq at our house a couple weekends ago. Dad took Mollie out to push Cailin in the stroller. Lots of Devorah/JB wedding pics to come next!

Girls' weekend 2011

Although we typically have our annual girls' weekend in Key West, this year we've all been doing so much travel, we couldn't fit in our usual trip. So instead, Mollie, Nana and I packed up and headed north to visit Auntie Sissy in Boston. We were very lucky and were upgraded to suite where I got to sleep alone and Mollie shared a room with Nana. Here we are in the morning having our coffee/milk in bed.If you have a kid in your life and you find yourself in Boston, I highly recommend the science museum. Not only are there tons of cool activities for the kiddos (including live animal shows, making and racing boats, and painting your own butterfly made of coffee filters) but there are also these super amazing people who walk around and show the kids how to do things. For example, this very friendly lady and her hand puppet who showed Mollie how to put this ball into a maze - over and over and over and over again.
Making boats...After our day at the museum, we went for a long walk to Mandarin Oriental for a snack and cocktail. I must say that my mango margarita was excellent, but the mac and cheese was the star of the show.
Mollie and Auntie Sissy did some intensive coloring.
Duck, duck...

That night we had an excellent Italian dinner and went to Modern Pastry for some cannoli.

The next day was Fourth of July. We had a delicious brunch and Mollie got all dressed up in her festive gear.
We watched Thomas and Friends on the iPad while we waited for our table.
I included this one because I cannot believe that mom sat on this scalding hot slide. Seriously, it was on fire. I don't know how she did it. That's love!

Summer!

In June for some reason I had an insane amount of work travel. While I was in Los Angeles for literally one day, Auntie Margie took this super cute photo of Louie and Mollie at the pool. I just love it!
